Is this the same as a toupee?
If you searched “toupee”, you’re not the only one. What most men mean today is a modern hair system - lighter, more natural, and designed to be worn with confidence.
The difference is the colour match, the hairline, and the blend. Done properly, it looks like your hair - not “a thing on your head”.
How long does a hair system last?
It depends on your lifestyle, maintenance, and the system type. Some men get longer life, some burn through them faster - sweat, training, and daily routine matter.
In your consult we’ll give you a realistic expectation based on how you live, not a fantasy number.
How often do I need maintenance?
Most guys come in every 7–14 days. That keeps it clean, secure, and blended so it stays looking natural.
If you’re very active or sweat a lot, you’ll usually sit closer to the 7‑day end.
Can I re-tape at home?
Yes. You can take it off, shave/clean underneath, remove old tape, and apply new tape at home - and we’ll show you how.
Most guys still come in for the blend and the barber finish, because your sides and back keep growing.
Will people be able to tell?
If it’s colour matched properly (including grey blending), fitted properly, and blended into your sides/back - it should look like your hair.
Most “obvious systems” come from wrong colour, too much density, or a poor hairline. That’s what we avoid.
Can I train, sweat, swim, and live normally?
Yes - but sweat and heat affect adhesion. That’s why we recommend tape, and why maintenance matters (especially in QLD).
