BARBER

DO YOU CUT LADY'S HAIR?

Ashley Robyb and Jonte are qualified in Barbering not Hairdressing. This means they haven’t had the training in any women’s hair and their qualification is fully focused on Beard Trims, Skin Fades and Cutthroat shaves, and Men's cuts. This being said, if a woman was to come in who wanted a “boyish” haircut we can absolutely do that for you (eg. Undercut, fresh cut). Robyn and Peter are both trained Hairdressers, so if they are rostered on, they will be more then happy to cut your hair

CAN I REQUEST A PARTICULAR BARBER FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

Certainly! You have the option to choose a specific barber for your appointment. We recommend making an advance booking if you have a particular barber in mind. Simply use our 'Book Online' feature, select a convenient time slot, and browse through the available barbers for that day. Once you've found your preferred barber, you can proceed with your booking.

If you happen to walk in without a prior reservation, we'll do our best to accommodate your request. However, please be aware that if there are multiple people waiting for the same barber, your wait time may be extended significantly as you'll be in line behind those patrons. If you find that the wait for your preferred barber is longer than you'd like, feel free to consider getting your haircut by another member of our team.

We're a close-knit group of barbers, each with our unique styles, but we all share the same dedication to providing our clients with the best possible barbering experience.

IS IT BOOKINGS ONLY?

Booking your barber is perfered so you have your spot, however if you walkin and we're avalible with no bookings about to arrive, we will happily fit you in.

WHAT IF I HAVE A CERTAIN HAIRCUT IN MIND?

Got a particular haircut in mind? No worries. Our skilled barbers are here to work with you, guiding you towards styles that complement your face shape and personal taste. Bring along a photo of the look you're aiming for - it's a great help. If not, we can look up styles on the spot. Our priority is to make sure you walk out looking sharp and feeling confident.

DO BARERS TRIM EYEBROWS?

Yes! At Core Benefits Toowoomba, our barbers will always ask you if you would like you eyebrows trimed.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BET A HAIRCUT?

How frequently should I get my hair trimmed? It really depends on your hair type and the style you're rocking. A good rule of thumb is to consult with your barber for their expert advice on how often you should be booking in to keep your hairstyle looking its best.

MASSAGE

View all
WHAT STYLES OF MASSAGES ARE THERE?

There are many different styles of massage. At Core Benefits Toowoomba we do a veritity massage, adapted to fix the needs of men. These styles of massage are the following, Core Benefits Toowoomba signiture lomi lomi massage, remedial massage, sports massage, and Core Benefits titan flow massage (tantric). Core Benefits also does dry needling (western accupunture) and ultrasonic cavitation.

WHAT IF I GET AN ERECTION DURING MY MASSAGE?

It's not uncommon for men to worry about this. It's important to know that an erection can be a natural, involuntary physiological response to touch, and professional massage therapists understand this. They are trained to handle such situations with professionalism and discretion.

DO I NEED TO TAKE MY CLOTHES OFF FOR A MASSAGE?

Dressing down for a massage, naked is best but it's totally your call. You don't have to strip down completely if that's not your thing. For the guys who prefer a bit of modesty, we've got towels on hand. Keeping your underwear on? That's cool, but just remember it might limit the full effect of the massage, especially if we're working on areas like your hips, hip flexors, or glutes.

WILL MY MASSAGE HURT?

Many people fear that massage needs to be deeply pressurized to be effective, but this isn't true. Massage should not cause pain. It's crucial to communicate with your therapist about the pressure; they should adjust it to your comfort level. The goal is to alleviate pain, not cause it, however during the massage if the therapist is working on an issue, they may have to cause some level of discomfort but should warn you first.

IS IT UNCOMFORTABLE FOR A MAN TO HAVE A THERAPIST OF THE SAME SEX?

Comfort with a therapist of the same sex is highly individual. Many men appreciate the mutual understanding and shared perspective that a male therapist can bring, especially in a men's health-focused setting. It’s about creating an environment where every client feels respected and at ease. In my practice, the emphasis is on professional, therapeutic care, where each client’s comfort and health are the top priorities. Remember, the most important aspect of massage therapy is the therapeutic benefit it brings - stress relief, pain management, and overall wellness.

DO YOU DO 'HAPPY ENDINGS'?

No. Two of our massage styles, Core Benefits Signature Lomi Lomi massage and Titan Flow massage, can be very sensual but they are not sexual. Erections are normal and sometimes, due to the sensation of the massage, some people may experience heightened senses that are involuntary. However, this is a natural response to these two full-body massages and the therapist will continue the treatment as a professional and discreetly wipe away anything if it needs to be.

Side note: If you are straight and get an erection or bust a nut, this DOES NOT make you gay. The body does what is does and if you are relaxed it is a good sign it is an incredible massage by a skilled therapist.

CAN I TOUCH MY THERAPIST?

No. The massage is about you. Trying to touch the therapist will result in the therapist advoiding your hand contact, effecting the flow and the benefits the massage, making it not an enjoyable experience for anyone. If you presist, the therapist will have to stop the appoinment early and will ask you to leave. The appoinment will still need to be paid for in full.

Therapists often have partners, and dealing with multiple clients a day making advances can become exhausting very quickly.

WHAT IF I MAKE AN EMBARRASSING NOISE, LIKE SNORING OR FARTING?

It's common and normal to fall asleep or make bodily noises during a massage, as they are signs of your body relaxing. Professional therapists are used to such occurrences and won't judge you for them.

CAN I REQUEST A FEMALE THERAPIST?

No. Core Benefits Toowoomba DOES NOT have a female therapist. There is a male therapist only.

WAXING

I SHAVED, WHAT'S THE BEST REQUIRED HAIR LENGTH BEFORE WAXING?

Make sure your hair's at least 5 to 10 millimeters long for the wax to take hold properly. If your hair's on the coarser side, you'll want to lean towards the 10-millimeter end for your initial waxes. As you wax more regularly and your hair starts to thin out, you can get by with a little less length. Plan to give it about 2 to 3 weeks after you've shaved to reach the optimal length for waxing.

DO I NEED TO TRIM BEFORE WAXING?

No need to trim before your waxing session. If your hair’s longer than 5mm, we'll take care of it before we start. Leave it to us — if you take a crack at it yourself, you might cut it too short. Let the pros handle it to make sure it's the right length for the best waxing results.

IS MALE WAXING PAINFUL?

Feeling the warm wax on your skin can be surprisingly pleasant. Of course, waxing isn’t as soothing as getting a massage, but most guys report that the discomfort isn’t as intense as they expected. The real battle is often with the anticipation rather than the treatment itself. First-timers adapt to the sensation pretty fast and usually find themselves relaxing after the initial few minutes.

To make your waxing experience smoother, don't rush into your appointment. Pick a day when you're feeling chill and not wiped out. Being in a calm and rested state can make a world of difference to your waxing session.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET WAXED?

For optimal results, it's best to schedule your waxing sessions every 4 to 6 weeks. This timing allows the hair to grow to the ideal length for waxing and ensures the roots are fine enough for easier and more comfortable removal.

If you're new to waxing, aim for the four-week mark for your follow-up session. It often takes a few waxing appointments to achieve the smoothest results.

WILL WAXING CAUSE SPOTS?

It's not uncommon to notice a few tiny spots after waxing, particularly if you're a rookie to the process. To keep this to a minimum, stick to the aftercare guidelines and use recommended after-wax products. As your skin gets more accustomed to waxing over time, you'll likely see fewer spots.

Preventing Spots and Ingrown Hairs:

To dodge the issue of spots and ingrown hairs, get into the habit of exfoliating with loofahs or scrubs. Follow up with products loaded with Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) or Salicylic acid. At Core Benefits we stock and recommend Depot No. 409 astringent stone regular use of these products is your best defense against these common post-waxing gripes.

I AM AFRAID OF TRYING INTIMATE WAXING BECAUSE I'M WORRIED THAT I WILL GET A BONER!

Feeling a bit tense about trying intimate waxing because you're worried about popping a tent? At Core Benefits Toowoomba, we're all about serving the gents, and there's zero room for awkwardness here. Our pros have seen it all and handled it all with the utmost professionalism—years in the game mean they're unfazed and non-judgmental. Erections can happen; they're just a reflex to what’s going down (or coming off) and tend to pass as quick as they come up. Your therapist will keep things rolling smoothly and professionally. Just kick back and relax.

WILL WAXING MAKE MY HAIR GROW BACK THICKER/STRONGER/DARKER?

No chance. Waxing won’t ever send your hair follicles into overdrive. Actually, it’s the complete opposite. Stick to waxing regularly, and you’ll notice your hair game getting weaker—thinner and less rough around the edges. See, when you shave, you're just chopping down the hair at its thickest point, which is why you get that sandpapery feel pretty soon after. But waxing? That's pulling the renegade out by the roots. So when the new guy shows up, it’s all smooth sailing—finer and softer, no prickly comeback. And don't sweat the old wives' tales about hair growth—it's all down to your hormones, natural or otherwise.

WHAT'S A BRAZILIAN WAX?

Think of a Brazilian wax as the full monty of hair removal. It's all about getting rid of every bit of pubic hair, both front and back. We use peelable, hot wax for a smoother experience. And hey, if you don't want to go the full monty, you can choose to leave a neat tidied up hair on the pubic bone. It's all about your personal style.

SHR/IPL LASER HAIR REMOVAL

DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL HURT?

The sensation experienced during laser hair removal is often compared to the snap of a rubber band against the skin. However, the modern system used at Core Benefits Toowoomba is designed to be more comfortable, and some patients only feel a warm tickling or tingling sensation.

IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL SAFE?

When performed by skilled professionals using Australian approved equipment, laser hair removal is safe. The SHR/IPL laser targets the hair follicle without harming the surrounding skin.

CAN LASER HAIR REMOVAL BE PERFORMED ANYWHERE ON THE BODY?

SHR/ IPL Laser hair removal can be safely used on almost all body parts, including sensitive skin areas.

IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PERMANENT?

SHR/IPL Laser treatments can significantly reduce hair growth, with some areas experiencing permanent removal. However, hormonal changes can influence hair growth, and occasional touch-ups might be needed.

HOW MANY LASER TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

The number of treatments required varies depending on factors like hair color, texture, and growth cycle. Generally, most places will miss lead you and say 6 to 8 sessions are recommended. However doing laser hair removal on men since 2018, I know that men are different to women and it is for most about 12 sessions and if you are told less, it is a sales pitch.

WHATAREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH LASER HAIR REMOVAL!

All area's of the body can be treated including intimate area's.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

It's important to avoid waxing or plucking for several weeks before treatment and apply sunscreen regularly to avoid skin sensitivity.

SHOULD I SHAVE BEFORE LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

Yes, you must shave the area's that are being lasered within 24 hours before your treatment. If you would like to show a problem or stubern area, please take a photo of it and shave. If you don't before, we will quickly clipper but for best results, shave.
