Ashley

Ashley has been barbering since she was 15, building her career around men’s hair, skin fades, clean tapering and helping clients find a style that actually suits them.

Barbering was not her original plan. She first considered hairdressing and policing before her father suggested she try a barbering apprenticeship.

Within weeks she had started an apprenticeship at one of Toowoomba’s established barbershops. She stayed there for more than eight years, completed her training and helped train other barbers coming through the shop.

Ashley later joined Warwick at Core Benefits as barbering became part of the broader men’s grooming and wellbeing business.

Skin fades remain one of her favourite cuts because of the precision involved in creating a clean graduation and balanced finish. She also enjoys helping clients work out what style will suit them rather than simply copying a haircut that may not work with their hair or features.

For Ashley, the relationships matter just as much as the haircut. Seeing the same clients regularly over many years is a big part of what she enjoys about barbering.
