I’m Warwick, known by my family as Rock and childhood friends as Bummy. I’m the founder and owner of Core Benefits Toowoomba, a men’s barber, massage, hair removal (waxing and laser) and men’s grooming business in Toowoomba, located on the beautiful southeast Queensland range.

In 2002, working as a Service and Parts Manager at a car dealership, I was stressed to my eyeballs, dealing with, what I thought at the time, ungrateful, impatient customers. I knew that there was more to life than this. I saw this tiny ad for a massage course and I thought this could be for me. Well, two decades later, I can say, it was.

That one little ad changed my life. It enabled a chain reaction that let me into other people's truths, other people’s worlds, enabiling me the ability to see that beneath their outer exterior, I found that even the toughest man has vulnerability’s, insecurity’s, secrets, and life questions. By learning about others, I was able to learn about myself, the first five years in business taught me a lot, but then again, I don’t think there has been a day I haven’t learnt something, and I love it.

I have lived a life and experienced much more than most, with highs, lows, and everything in between. During my life so far, one of my biggest lessons learnt is not to judge. I often find people make their minds up about a subject before considering if they have any real idea or understanding, perhaps even education that warrants such views. I love breaking down those walls, those viewpoints, and learning where people get them from, whether it is views about themselves or others. In my position, getting men to open up, and talk about the real stuff, the deep stuff, the stuff that they feel they can’t talk about to anyone or anywhere else, I just love it, there is never a topic off limits. I love the safe, relaxed environment that we have at Core Benefits, and it is a place that extends to mateships, where everyone can be themselves, and it is something that I’m very proud of.

I have a few passions and I am grateful every day that I am able to live them, Family, Business, Men’s health and grooming, and travel. Do I have it all together, hell no, like most people building a business know, it means a lot of hours, hours away from my family, partner, and friends. I have two children (now adults) and 3 grandchildren and spend a lot of time wondering where the years have gone. I am always busy and there is always something happening, I believe this is a trait I got from my mother.

Watching the growth of Core Benefits Toowoomba over the years has been amazing, seeing men move from being worried that their mate will find out that they like looking after themselves to now where it has become the ‘norm’. Men that would never tell a soul to now where they Snapchat themselves having a brazilian, the change blows me away.

I look forward to many more years developing Core Benefits, I thank everyone that has supported it along the way, and look forward to meeting more incredible people in the future.
